King Chavez Public Schools is a nonprofit corporation, charter network operator that oversees six charter schools. In 2000, the original King Chavez Academy of Excellence was founded. In 2005, King Chavez divided up a preexisting elementary school into three new schools: King Chavez Primary Academy, King Chavez Arts Academy, and King Chavez Athletics Academy, each with a unique focus area. In 2006, King Chavez Preparatory Academy was opened as a middle school to serve the advancing students.

The mission of King Chavez Public Schools is, "We seek excellence and equality in education from the foundation of love."
